Ann Larson, 79, Glyndon, MN, formerly Felton, MN, died Friday May 22, 2009 in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Anice B. Stumbo was born Oct. 23, 1929 at Lake Park, MN, the daughter of Burley and Carrie (Anderson) Stumbo. She was raised on the family farm near Ulen, MN, attended country school and was a member of the Walworth Baptist Church near there. Following graduation from Ulen High School, she helped her family on the farm until her marriage to Milton Larson on June 22, 1947. They made their home in several areas before settling in the Felton community in the early 1950's. They raised their family there and Ann became an active part of the community. Over the years Ann was employed at the Felton School and also at the Green Leaf Marker. After Milton's death in 1999, Ann continued to make her home at Felton until 2007, when she moved to Glyndon. She lived there until the time of her death.
Ann was active in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and was past President of Ladies Aid. She served as an election judge for many years. She enjoyed sewing, reading, quilting, and flower gardening. Over the years, Ann and Milton had the opportunity to travel which often would be the topic of conversation. She loved having her grandchildren spend time with her and watching them grow. Ann will also be remembered for her love of baking and her famous buns.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Deborah (Terry) Blake, Felton, MN, Laura Meyer, Moorhead, MN, Claudia (Don) Schroeder, Fargo, ND and Sally (Mark) Annis, Glyndon, MN; three sons, Ray (Pat) Larson, Gary, MN, Ronald (Ruth) Larson, Felton, MN, and Mitchell (Nancy) , Glyndon, MN; three sisters, Eva Hollenbeck, Maryland, Jean (Don) Niemann, Hillsboro, Ill and Laurel Dahl, International Falls, MN; two brothers, Lynn, Felton, MN and Gordon, Fergus Falls, MN; 23 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, one sister, one brother and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday May 27th at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Felton, MN at 3:00pm.
