Ann Marie Kolnes, 81, of Halstad, MN, formerly of Hendrum, MN, died on Monday, August 09, 2010, at the Halstad Living Center, Halstad. She was born on October 13, 1928, to Charles and Marjorie (Walters) Aasen at Fargo, ND. Ann was baptized, confirmed and married in Hendrum, as well as graduating from the Hendrum High School in 1946.
On September 11, 1946, Ann was united in marriage to Einar Kolnes at the Hendrum parsonage. She owned and operated the Hendrum Café and Pool Hall, where she was known to bake donuts, pies and other products from scratch. She and Einar where blessed with a son, Perry. After selling the café, Ann worked for Ada Rexall as a clerk for eight years. They moved to their lake cabin on the west side of South Twin Lake. Over the years, they entertained many family and friends on their property. In the winter months, they enjoyed riding snowmobile on the lake and nearby trails.
Ann was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, serving for many years in the ladies aid. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, serving as secretary, VFW auxiliary, and served in the area school as a volunteer.
Ann is survived by her son, Perry (Mynette), Fargo, ND; three grandchildren: Jeffrey Kolnes, Moorhead, MN, Dawn (Jeremy) Paulsrud, Halstad, and Brian (Holly) Schlapkohl, Hendrum; one brother, Charles (Shirley) Aasen, Detroit Lakes, MN; one sister-in-law, Mildred Kolness, Halstad; several nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Einar, 1997.

Memorial services will be on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at 11 am in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hendrum, MN.
Visitation will be one before the services in the church.
Inurnment will be at a later date.
