Anitra Ofstedal, 74, rural Fertile, MN, died Saturday, April 28, 2018 at her home under the care of her family and hospice.

Anitra Ofstedal was born on March 22, 1944, to parents William and Alice DuRose at Duluth, MN.  She graduated from Fertile High School in 1962.  She attended MSU and received her bachelor's degree from Morningside University in 1969.

On December 22, 1963, Anitra was united in marriage to Paul Ofstedal at Faaberg Lutheran Church.  She taught at Fertile-Beltrami School until she retired in 2004. Anitra and Paul spent the next 7 winters in Panama City Beach, FL.

Anitra loved teaching her students, and made a big impact on many of their lives.  Nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren, who she was very proud of.  She also loved spending time with her special group of girlfriends from high school.

Anitra was lovingly referred to as Nita, Neech, Neet, Neety, Sunshine, Sunch and Sunchie.

A very special thank you goes to Jamy Fuglseth; Hospice nurse, caregiver, and amazing person.  Anitra died at her family farm in rural Fertile, where she wanted to be.  Ever since Paul "Wonka" died, she wanted to be with him again.  She waited and waited, it came her time and she is no longer in pain.  She is with her dear love once again.

Anitra is survived by her daughter; Catherine, grandchildren; Paul and Mae (the three of them had a very special relationship), brothers; Edwin (Grace) DuRose, of Stanchfield, MN, and Jim (Julie) DuRose, of Kalamazoo, MI, and her inlaws: Jan (Omar) Helgeson, Rindal, MN, Don (Jerry) Ofstedal, Minneapolis, MN, Div Ofstedal, Erskine, MN, and Wes (Robyn) Ofstedal, Fosston, MN.
