Angeline Blomseth, age 85, of Mahnomen, MN, died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Mahnomen Health Center Nursing Home.
Angeline Agnes Pavek was born January 25, 1923 in Waubun, MN, the daughter of John W and Mary (Adams) Pavek. Angie, along with her nine brothers and sisters, was raised on a farm Southeast of Waubun. She went to school in Waubun, graduating with the class of 1942. Angie attended Bemidji State University and later worked as a cashier for Blanding Department Store in Detroit Lakes, MN. On June 29, 1950 Angie was united in marriage to Edwin Blomseth and the couple made their home in Mahnomen. Angie worked as a bookkeeper for B.C. Ness and later for Solar Gas Company, both in Mahnomen. In the early 1960's, she became employed with Mahnomen County Human Services as a case worker. She continued in this position until her retirement in 1989. After Ed's death in 1992, Angie remained in her own home until 2007 when failing health caused her to move to the Mahnomen Health Center Nursing Home.
Angie was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mahnomen and was a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters Mahnomen Court 342. She loved being outdoors and in her younger years especially enjoyed golfing and snowmobiling. Angie was a talented gardener who doted on her flowers. She had beautiful gardens in the summer but tenderly cared for her flowers all year round. Angie was a beloved sister and aunt. She loved to visit with her dear family and many friends.
Angie is survived by three brothers: Edward J. (Dolores) Pavek of Fertile, MN; Bernard (Therese) Pavek of Wadena, MN; Lloyd (Marilyn) Pavek of Waubun; three sisters: Patty Wander of Detroit Lakes, MN; Beatrice Steinmetz of Plymouth, MN; Bernice Leier of Rugby, ND; and and a sister-in-law, Barbara Pavek of Detroit Lakes, MN. Angie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers: Leonard, Anthony and John.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mahnomen, with Fr. Rick Lambert officiating. Tim Pavek, Steve Pavek, Rick Pavek, Greg Pavek, Jim Pavek and Ken Steinmetz, will serve as pallbearers and the National Catholic Society of Foresters Mahnomen Court 342 will be honorary bearers. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Church, with a Rosary at 1:15 p.m. Interment will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Mahnomen.
