Obituary

Alvin A. Holm, 68, Ada, Minnesota, died Sunday, October 2, 2016, at Essentia Health Hospital in Ada.

Alvin was born on May 15, 1948, in Ada. He was baptized and confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church, near Hendrum, MN. He graduated from Hendrum High School in 1967. Growing up, Alvin stayed busy working on the family farm near Hendrum. After his school years, he continued farming on his own and with his uncles, and later for neighboring farmers including Maurice Aronson, Tommerdahls, Nepstads, and for the past several years until his death for Terry Guttormson.

Alvin was a kind, likable, and caring man, who would help out anyone as needed. Even though he suffered from hearing loss for many years, Alvin would find a way to communicate in his own way and really appreciated texting with people on his modern cell phone. For many years, he was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed following Dale Earnhardt Sr. He also had a special passion for the Minnesota Vikings, anything Chevrolet, and watching professional wrestling in person or on TV. Alvin's pride and joy were his grandchildren and he enjoyed all the time he could spend with them.

Alvin is survived by his sons, Ryan (Sarah) and Cory (Brittany) both of Ada, 5 grandchildren; Anthony, Adrien, Jesse, Adyn, and Abigail. He was preceded in death by his mother, Selma, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
