Alvin Hill, age 76, of Naytahwaush, MN, died Monday, April 23, 2018.
Alvin Gene Hill, the son of George and Emily (Bigwind) Hill, was born on September 30, 1941, in White Earth, MN. At the age of 19, Alvin entered the United States Marine Corps. He loyally served his country from January 21, 1960 until his honorable discharge on November 19, 1966. Alvin met the love of his life, Izsola Lynn Thompson in 1991 and the couple has happily spent twenty-seven years together. On November 7, 2008, Alvin and Izsola were united in marriage and have resided together in Naytahwaush, MN, until Alvin's death.
Alvin loved the outdoors and spent many happy times in the peaceful solace of the woods. He was also a talented woodworker and shared his gifts with many. Alvin cherished his family, especially his grandkids. In his spare time, he also enjoyed reading, traveling, playing cards and spending time with his buddies. Alvin loved to make others smile by joking around and was often the life of the party. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Alvin is survived by his wife, Izsola; two step-sons, Dustin and David; four step-daughters: Stephanie, Candice, Tia and Sophia; his grandchildren; two brothers, James and Frankie; two sisters, Barbara and Gloria; brothers & sisters-in-law: Margaret Skinaway, Leonard (Kathy) Thompson, Ronald Thompson, Donald Thompson, Karen (Marvin) Manypenny and Kari Thompson; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Emily; brothers, Billy and George, and sisters: Emma Rose, Dorothy, Delores and Bobby Anne.
A Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Rice Lake Area Fellowship Church in Rice Lake, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Philips Episcopal Cemetery, Rice Lake, MN.
