Obituary

Alice Van Puymbrouck, age 89, of Peoria, AZ, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, under the care of Arizona Hospice.

Alice Marlene (Dedo) Van Puymbrouck of Peoria, AZ died on March 25, 2014. She was born on March 2, 1925 in Duluth, MN where she was adopted by her loving parents John and Jennette (Utt) Dedo. She attended Denfeld High School and on July 26, 1944, Alice was united in marriage to Arthur M. Van Puymbrouck . In 1973, they moved to Colorado, where she retired in 1998 as Office Manager for Bancroft-Clover Water District. She spent her retirement years in Peoria, AZ. In July 1978, Alice discovered her birth parents were Frank and Julia Winkler and she reunited with two brothers and two sisters, becoming an active part of the extended family. In 2001, she wrote a book "My Two Mothers, God Bless Them Both" describing her experience and the happiness she found.

She was preceded in death by her adoptive and birth parents, her husband Arthur, brothers James and Kenneth Winkler, brothers in law Harvey, Ed Welle and close cousin June Baker Johnston. She is survived by sons Arthur (Marty) of Twisp, WA, Paul (Marlene) of Duluth, MN and daughter Jo Ann (Donald) Hoag of Saginaw, MN; grandsons Cody and Casidy; step-granddaughters Lani and Niki, great grandchildren Cyrus, Oliver, Hazel; ; sisters Shirley Welle and Lorraine Welle; and close cousins Phyllis Baker James and Dorothy Utt Sandstedt.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014, at11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Beaulieu, MN. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Interment will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Beaulieu.
