Obituary

Alice Olson, age 86, of Ulen, Minnesota, died Saturday, September 16, 2006 in the Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen.

Alice Christine Hanson was born April 28, 1920, the daughter of Hans and Selma (Bertha) Hanson in Gibbon, Minnesota. She was bapitzed and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. At a young age, Alice moved with her parents to rural Ulen. On November 9, 1937, Alice was united in marriage to Clarence "Shorty" Olson in Ulen. The couple lived and farmed near Ulen until 1959. At that time Alice and Shorty moved into Ulen where he was employed by the city. They moved back out to a farm west of Ulen in the early 1970's. They lived there until 1991, when they moved to Hitterdal, Minnesota. In the mid-1990's, Alice moved back to Ulen where she continued to make her home until the time of her death. Shorty died January 12, 1997.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Adeline (Ernie) Klemetson of Ulen, MN; one brother, Rueben (Ruth) Hanson of Frazee, MN, one sister, Mavis Bergley and special friend, Robert of Sun City, CA; seven grandchildren 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, Donald, Harlan, LeRoy, Marvin and Luverne, one great- grandson, Keith Wolf and one great-great-grandson, Steven Wolf.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 19 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM in Calvary Lutheran Church, Ulen. Visitation will also be one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 20 at 10:30 AM in the Calvary Lutheran Church, Ulen, Minnesota.
Officiating will be Pastor Christopher Dale with Macel Klemetson serving as organist and Lyle Manthe serving as vocalist. Pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Jason Wolf, Erik Schroeder, Matt Boman, Andy Boman, R.J. Nelson and Brandon Klemetson. Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Calvary Lutheran Cemetery, Ulen.
