Obituary

Alice Abbott, 91, formerly of Mentor and Fertile, MN, died on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at the Pioneer Nursing Home, Erskine, MN.
Alice Anderson Abbott, daughter of Gustav Anderson and Hilma Carlsen Anderson was born November 7, 1919 into a family of 12 children in Mentor, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in the Mentor area. On May 9, 1938 she was united in marriage to Earl Abbott of Mentor. They were married 57 years and four children were born to this marriage: Audrey, Eugene, Phyllis, and Norman.
Alice and Earl lived in the Mentor area all their lives, except for a brief period spent in Idaho and Oregon. After retirement, Alice and Earl traveled extensively. Alice was a housewife and mother, as well as operating her own business offering home services. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor and Concordia Lutheran in Fertile, MN. Shortly after the death of her husband, Alice moved into the Summerfield Retirement Village in Fertile and due to declining health moved to Pioneer Nursing Home, Erskine, MN, February 2007.
Alice is survived by three children; Audrey (Dennis) Flemming of Urbandale, IA, Phyllis (Dean) Kittleson of Mentor, and Norman (Jan) Abbott of Seattle, WA. Also surviving are six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Alice follows her parents, loving husband Earl, December 12, 1995 and son Eugene, December 3, 2000, into the arms of our Lord.

Memorial services will be on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at 2 PM in the Erikson-Vik Funeral Home, Fertile, MN.

Inurnment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, rural Mentor, MN.
