Alfred "Fred" Sauck, age 69 of Twin Valley, MN, died on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at his residence.

Alfred was born October 13, 1938 in Perham, MN, the son of Carl and Anna Sauck. He grew up and attended school near Waubun, MN. On November 4, 1961, Alfred was united in marriage to Arlene Horn. To their union came three children: Randy, Rhonda and Roxy. He was an excellent father and provider for his family, often working more than one job at a time.
Over the years, Alfred's employment history included farming, a shovel operator with US Steel, a business owner, independent painter and contractor, the custodian at Hope Lutheran Church and most recently a technician at Crystal Sugar. Following his retirement from Crystal Sugar, Alfred enjoyed working on his farm and raising sheep.

Alfred is survived by one son, Randy (Jean) Sauck, of Mahnomen; a daughter, Rhonda Furin (Fiancé Richard Adray), of Newport Beach, CA; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, James (Rosetta) Sauck, of Twin Valley, MN, a sister, Marcella (Francis) Bennett, of Grand Rapids, MN, and half-sister, Carol (Shannon) Jensen, of Salem, OR; his beloved Samoyed, Ripple and two granddogs, Annie and Emmy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and man's best friend, his Samoyed Joey.

Memorial services were held Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Anderson ~ Mattson Funeral Home in Mahnomen, MN.
