Albert Frank Pazdernik Jr. was born on December 6, 1936 to Albert and Mary (Fisher) Pazdernik in Mahnomen MN. Albert attended country school for six years and then two years in Mahnomen. Albert started farming in 1950 with his father and two brothers. In 1959, he was drafted in to the United States Army where he served for 2 years and 3 months. His tour ended with an honorable discharge in 1961.
Albert returned to farming with his family and continued until his retirement in 1997. After retiring Albert served on the Beaulieu Township Board for about ten years. He had many hobbies which included hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening and working in his woodshop- where he built fish houses and deer stands. Albert also enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Albert was diagnosed with cancer the end of September and continued to live at home until November 12th when he moved into Emmanuel Nursing Center in Detroit Lakes, MN. Albert passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 16th 2010.
Albert is survived by his brother, Stanley (Lorraine) Pazdernik of Mahnomen; three nieces: Julie Gevik of Fertile, MN, Rosalene (Jeremiah) Keller of Erskine, MN and Peggy (Robert Jr.) Balstad of Red Lake Falls, MN; two nephews, Dennis Pazdernik of Mahnomen and Milton (Shelley) Pazdernik Jr. of Euclid, MN; three great nieces: Amanda Balstad, Hailey Balstad and Haileebeth Pazdernik; and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Milton; sister-in-law, Violet Pazdernik; nephew-in-law, Jim Gevik and several cousins.
Visitation was on Thursday, November 18th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the Anderson-Mattson Funeral Home, Mahnomen
Funeral Services were held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 19th at First Lutheran Church in Mahnomen, with Vicki Marthaler officiating. Doug Schoenborn delivered a eulogy. Serving as pallbearers were Tim Barth, Jamie Pazdernik, Jessie Maruska, Brandon Miller, Bill Pazdernik, and Jimmy Steinmetz. Honorary bearers were Ron Barth, Wilfred Maruska, Ivan Pazdernik, Anthony Maruska, Irvin Pazdernik, and Wilbert Miller. Military Honors were provided by the Bejou VFH Wild Rice Post # 1226 and the MNARNG Honor Guard. Interment was a Riverside Memorial Park, Mahnomen, MN
