Obituary

Adelbert "Addy" Pavek, age 80, of Waubun, MN, died Friday February 12, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Addy was born Jan. 21, 1930 the son of Joseph and Emma (Sery) Pavek near Waubun, MN. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Waubun. As a young man he helped his father on the farm until entering the Navy in 1952. While in the service he was assigned to the aircraft carrier, Franklin D. Roosevelt where he served in the Pacific and later the Far East before his discharge in 1956. He returned to the Waubun community for a few years. On June 21, 1960 he was united in marriage to Ann Dusek. They made their home in Circle Pines, MN for many years. Addy was employed as a semi-truck trailer repairman for most of his working years. In
the mid 1980's he moved to Lake Park, MN for a short time before moving back to Waubun where he has lived since.

Addy was an avid hunter and was known for his ability to repair most anything and also for his welding ability. He was a member of the VFW.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Pavek, Waubun, MN. Two sons, Tom (Jenny) of Blaine, MN and Jerry of Lino Lakes, MN. Three grandchildren Sarah, Jackie and Ryan. Two brothers, Joseph Jr. (Sylvia) of American Falls, ID and Edmund (Jane) of Minnetonka, MN.

Addy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert, Ronnie and an infant brother, Stanley.


A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday Feb 16 at the Anderson-Mattson Funeral Home in Mahnomen, MN. A time of gathering will be from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home. Fr. Bob Leising will officiate.
