Obituary

Aaron Turner, age 24, of Waubun, MN, died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Aaron Michael Turner was born May 21, 1987 in Detroit Lakes, MN, the son of Patricia Turner and Ray Londo. Growing up in the Naytahwaush, MN, area, Aaron attended and graduated from Mahnomen High School with the class of 2005. Throughout high school and following graduation, he worked at the Shooting Star Casino. Aaron also trained in Bemidji, MN, and Brainerd, MN, to be a wildland fire fighter. Upon completion of this training, he was able to go out west to fight fires and was also called to Ohio to help during a flood. The last couple years, Aaron has spent much treasured time with family and friends, particularly his nieces. During high school, Aaron was active in both basketball and football. He also enjoyed playing X-Box and various video games especially Call of Duty: Black Ops. Aaron also developed a passion for playing poker, either online or live. So much, he even had a poker table at home. Surviving Aaron are his parents, Pat (Fiancé, Jack Prang) Turner, Waubun, and Ray Londo, Naytahwaush; brother, Ray (Lynsey Soyring) Conner, Naytahwaush; sisters: Dawn (Lenny Keezer) Kier, Naytahwaush, Serena (Todd) Oppegard, Mahnomen, and Aimee Turner, Waubun; grandmother, Lucille Turner, Naytahwaush; step-grandmother, Opal Londo, Hendrum, MN; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and several nieces and nephews. Aaron was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Dewey Bunker, maternal grandfather, Thomas "Barney" Turner; paternal grandparents, Malcom and Harriet Londo; uncle, Mike Turner and several cousins. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Naytahwaush Sports Complex in Naytahwaush, MN. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm on Thursday, February 23, 2012, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm, and continue until time of the service on Friday, all at the Sports Complex. Interment will be at St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery in Naytahwaush.
